Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said that her government had adopted zero tolerance policy against terrorism and militancy.
“We will do everything necessary to fight these problems,” she said while responding to question in parliament during the Prime Minister’s question time.
Hasina said that she told the Saudi King, other Muslim countries and the OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) about Bangladesh’s firm position against militancy.
“I told the Saudi King that Bangladesh will send its troops, if necessary, to protect the two holy Mosques (In Saudi Arabia),” she said.
Forty Muslim countries have are taking part in the Saudi-led Islamic alliance against militancy and terrorism and it created opportunity for the entire Muslim Ummah to work together.
About her recent visit to Saudi Arabia, Hasina said this tour has taken the Saudi-Bangladesh ties to a new height.
“The visit will bring further dynamism in Bangladesh’s relations with the Muslim world alongside establishing the bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia on a strong footing,” she added.
She hoped that Bangladesh’s importance will be enhanced and its image will be brightened further in the Muslim world through this new relation with Saudi Arabia.
